There are 9 locks in total, but the effort is rewarded with the “Folly Inn”, where you can replenish your energy levels before you head on towards Fenny Compton. There are no more locks, only pleasant countryside. The South Oxford Canal meanders gently through the peaceful surroundings before you reach the “The Wharf Inn”, another excellent pub and also the turning point for this journey. It’s also an excellent spot to moor up for the night and head back towards Napton Locks and Braunston.
